Using the latest version, and downloaded several skins. Unzipped them and put them in the skins folder. But when I go change the skin, none of the ones I put in there show up. I tried restarting, but that made no difference. Any advice?

I believe you unzipped it to the sub folde, please check that.

If you install the 8start Launcher in "c:\program files\8start Launcher" , after 8start White skin installed successfullly, you should able to see "c:\program files\8start Launcher\skin\8start White" folder with all the neccessary .jpg/.png and .ini files. If you see only a sub folder under e.g. "c:\program files\8start Launcher\skin\8start White" , then you may unzipped it into wrong folder

You don't have expanded a downloaded skin folder but i think you have this structure

Example
...8start Launcher\Skin\Fabio Longo iPhone\Fabio Longo iPhone\....(file and folders of skin)

Instead of this
...8start Launcher\Skin\Fabio Longo iPhone\....(file and folders of skin)
