Hi everyone, just trying out the utility and Wow i could grow to love this!!!

However its not loving me back at the moment. The program seeks to have a problem with the number of icons it can handle. I have seen other posts that say it can reliably handle 20 but it regularly crases with this error with 10 icons, sometimes only 6 and once I had 13 and number 14 crashed it. Deleting all the icon folders allowed it to start but it still did the same thing when adding again.

I'm on XP Pro SP2, 4GB ram, Dual 3GHz Xeon.

Using version 1.5. If someone can give me the solution to this problem I would be real happy....I need it to love me back!!!!!

I suspect maybe one of the icon create the problem, maybe you can add in icon one by one, (click apply after each icon added), then can know which caused the problem

I have exactly the same problem here. Everything works fine,
unless one particular link that cannot be added without crashing
8start launcher.

In may case, this concerns only the program isobuster.exe
(http://www.isobuster.com/). I could verify the cause and
Fortunately here is an easy workaround. The problem is, that
isobuster.exe contains up to 15 icons. 8start can access each of
these icons, unless the last one, which is unfortunately the
default icon. If you select any other of isobusters icons, it
works perfectly.

No clue so far, what they did with the last/default icon. If you
inspect isobusters resources, you can see that they tag the
faulty icon different than the remaining ones. Icon 1 to 14 are
tagged wit numbers as usual, but icon #15 is tagged "MAINICON".

As mentioned above, it works for me as it is now. But maybe you
can handle this problem in an upcoming release anyway.

Well, here comes another one. In the meantime I have switched to version 1.7. Yesterday I tied to add a shortcut to MozBackup (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/). Now 8Start crashes on startup, I had to remove that shortcut manually. If another icon is selected, I works perfectly.

Hope this helps
