8Start has enabled me to organise my desktop - I love it! I have been involved with software for 43 years and in that time a few programs have really excited me. 8Start is one of them - congratulations Andy, 8Start is brilliant.
I have two issues that I need help with. A few of my icons are transparent. If I mouse over the space, the label appears so the link exists - the icon space is just transparent.
Also, I'd like to start using Tree Notes - unfortunately it doesn't work at all.
I would appreciate any assistance.

Glad to hear that you love 8start too, welcome to 8start family.
I need the following information, in order for me to give the advise.
" A few of my icons are transparent"
- can I have the name of the program which icons become transparent? so I can try to test it
"I'd like to start using Tree Notes - unfortunately it doesn't work at all."
- What problem you are facing?

Fabio - Thanks
With regard to my Notes not working, I wonder if I could save my static categories, groups and buttons, uninstall 8start, re-install and then restore my static categories?

I dont think that a new installation solve your TreeNote problem but; yes, you can save setting folder and replace it after.
8start is a stand-alone/portable sofware and unless for some files, all it needs is inside 8start folder.
If you want, you can make thus:
- copy the 8start folder in an other position of hard disk
- delete file config and setting.ini + delete folder Cache, Data and Setting2
- inside Setting folder delete all and make an empty folder (the name is insignificant)
Now you have a cleaned 8start; launch, open Organize button, add a Dynamic Category and test if Tree Notes work.
