On an XP system, the skin displays only 1/4 of its original picture (mostly the left upper corner) or sometimes the skin shrinks down to half size.

XP is still going strong, I hope this issue will be fixed soon

Thanks

8start running well in windows XP as well as windows Vista.

However, the screen DPI must use the windows default setting, 96 DPI. Can you check the setting for the windows DPI?

It is at 96 dpi (Don't capitalize the wording, if you do it will have a different meaning :))

Hi Andy,

I received the new 8Start.exe file. Thank you.

Tested on one of the XP system and it did fix the problem. GREAT JOB!

One another XP system (I use one of the skin from Fabio Longo) it only only displays 1/4 of its content - usually the upper left corner - OR shrink down to 1/4 of the actual size. In either case, all the icons' position is messed up so one can not click on any icon to run anything. Screen resolution is 1024 * 768 at 96 dpi

Glad to hear that the fix is working. :-)

This morning I able to make my XP system display 1/4 icon

Can you see if the "use large icons" have been checked (setting in display properties > appearance > effect).
8start display 1/4 of icons if "use large icons" have been checked.

After uncheck the "use large icons", you may need to restart computer, then refresh 8start launcher.

Hope this work

So glad to find this post. I was having trouble with a Client's screen. She wanted large font and had changed the world to ge there. Going back to 96 dpi made all the difference. Thanks for the great forum :)

Is there a fix for this or we HAVE to be at that exact resolution in order to use 8start?

I'd really like to see this fixed so it either ignores the windows DPI settings or scales with it. This unfortunately makes 8Start completely unusable for me. Guess I'm off to find a replacement.
